Web Developer - Programmer Analyst I (Job ID: 1000)

Salary: For an entry-level Programmer Analyst I, the annual salary will range from $60,260 - $82,779. For more senior Programmer Analyst I, the annual salary will range from $60,260 - $105,298 with a mid-point goal of $82,779. Actual starting salary will depend on qualifications and experience.

Telework: This position works on-site in the Minnesota Senate Building and Capitol during the legislative session. When the legislature is not in session, flexible hybrid options may be available.

Days of Work/Hours: Monday-Friday/8am-5pm.

Position Summary

The Web Developer will provide expertise in all aspects of software design and development. Primary responsibilities include learning various coding languages, application integration tools/concepts, design, and analysis of systems, and identifying overall system problems, needs, and new requirements. Under limited supervision this position will focus on analysis, design, and programming of systems. This position will work in collaboration with the Technical Lead and other Web Developers.

An ideal candidate will have a combination of front-end and back-end development skills that enable the creation of complex web applications. We seek someone who is adaptable to shifting tasks and priorities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to write clean and well-documented code.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume.

This position requires a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in website and application development, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL database management, unit testing, or related.

A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years, or related Associate's degree may substitute for one year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with VueCli and Laravel MVC frameworks.
  • Experience working with MS-SQL, ORACLE databases, and git.
  • Experience in Debug/QA and designing your own code.
  • Knowledge of a responsive website design with user experience (UX) and Web Accessibility in mind.
  • Ability to deliver end to end development/deployment of web applications.
